‘Fantastic Fiber!’ opening coming to Bay School

Bay School Community Arts Center presents “Fantastic Fiber!,” through Feb. 24. Fantastic Fiber! explores the many ways artists incorporate fiber into their work as a means of expression. This exhibit showcases fiber art created by 17 Virginia artists in both 2D and 3D art, including collage, pottery, weavings, wearable art, jewelry and many other clever examples of fiber use in artwork. Each entry incorporates fiber in unique and creative ways.

This is one of the items in ‘Fantastic Fiber!’

An opening reception is set for 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in the Art Speaks Gallery. Enjoy drinks and finger foods, and meet the artists in the gallery.

Bay School is a nonprofit community art school and art gallery. It offers monthly shows, classes for all ages and skill levels, both regional and local art, and community outreach programs. Visit www.bayschool-arts.com to see all upcoming events and classes.

Bay School is located at 279 Main Street, Mathews, and is supported in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, Dominion Energy, Mathews County, and community gallery sponsors.
