Celebrating Washington

Andrew Packett will provide an engaging historical program in honor of George Washington’s birthday.

NORTHUMBERLAND—“George Washington, Your Humble Servant” will be held at 3 p.m. February 16 at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern (RHHT), 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

Held in honor of the first president’s birthday, this fundraiser will include a light buffet based on some of Washington’s favorite foods. Andrew Packett will portray Washington. This historical program will be held in period attire by candlelight.

“Although George Washington is revered as our country’s first president, he considered himself just a humble man who was thrust into an extraordinary time,” said RHHT director Corinne Becker.

Tickets are $25. For tickets, visit RHHTFoundationinc.org, or call 580-3377. Tickets will also be sold at the Tavern gift shop. This program is held in conjunction with NNK250.
