Market Day will return to Wicomico Parish Oct. 17

NORTHUMBERLAND—Wicomico Parish Episcopal Church, 5191 Jessie Ball duPont Memorial Highway, Wicomico Church, will hold Market Day from 8 a.m.-noon October 17.

“Market Day is a wonderful annual event at our church, bringing together parishioners and community members for a morning of finds, fellowship and fun,” said steering committee member Jennifer Fletcher.

At Market Day, visitors have an opportunity to shop the grounds in a variety of areas, including bargain buys, workshop, jewelry, garden, sporting and marine, and in the Pole Barn Boutique. In the Parish Hall, guests will find an assortment of baked goods, soups and handmade items from the church’s Knitters Group. Garner’s Produce will have a stand, as well.

Items for sale in the silent auction will include outboard motors, boats, canoes, kayaks, two Fredric Remington sculpture replicas and an antique rotating hardware cabinet by A.B Brown. Bidding will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 10:30 a.m.

This year’s raffle prize is a Project Hail Mary sweater, knitted by a member of the Knitter’s Group. Raffle tickets will be available at Market Day, $10 per ticket, or three for $25.  The winning ticket will be drawn when Market Day closes at noon.

Proceeds from Market Day support organizations in Northumberland and Lancaster counties.

When the church bells ring at 8 a.m. on Market Day, the treasure hunting begins. “There’s something for everyone,” said Fletcher. “You don’t have to look too hard to find that something—or somethings—hat you love!”
