LANCASTER—Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital (RGH) will host its annual Power of Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Event from 5:30-7:30 p.m. October 12 at White Stone Church of the Nazarene, 57 Whisk Drive, White Stone.
The free community event brings people together for an evening of education, encouragement and support. Survivors, caregivers, loved ones and community members are all invited, reported external communications, public relations manager Jenna Green.
Dr. Bessie S. Brown, RGH vice president of nursing and hospital administrator, emphasized the importance of community support in the fight against cancer. “At Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital, we believe in the power of coming together to make a difference,” said Brown. “This event not only aims to educate and empower but also to remind everyone that no one walks this journey alone.”
The event will feature educational presentations by Dr. Cameron Wood, medical oncologist, and Laura Watkins, registered dietitian specializing in oncology nutrition, both with Bon Secours Cancer Institute. Attendees also will hear an inspiring personal story from breast cancer survivor Mary Ann Marks.
Guests can visit vendor tables and community resource booths. There will be complimentary refreshments, door prizes and a ceremony honoring survivors.
