YPYC schedules fall sailboat racing series

LANCASTER—Yankee Point Yacht Club (YPYC), 734 Oak Hill Road, Lancaster, recently announced its fall Thursday Night Sailboat Race Series.

YPYC will hold sailboat races, weather and wind permitting, beginning at 5 p.m. August 20, 27, September 3, 10, 17 and 24 at the confluence of the Corrotoman and Rappahannock rivers, reported Rob Baker.

Racing will be open to boats 18 feet and longer, said Baker. PHRF Rating is recommended, but not required.

There is no fee to participate; however, pre-registration is required at ypyc.us under the sailing, racing forms and sailing instructions tabs. Club membership is not required; for membership inquiries, text 703-216-3212.

The Yankee Point Yacht Club Pursuit Race will follow at 10 a.m. October 10, weather and wind permitting.
