LANCASTER—The Town of Irvington recently announced Rockfish & the Rivermen will give a concert from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, July 4, on the porch of the Steamboat Era Museum on the Irvington Commons.
The performance will serve as a bridge between the Irvington Farmers Market and the Hometown Parade, creating an afternoon filled with music, community spirit and patriotic celebration as America marks its 250th anniversary, reported parade coordinator LuAnne Davis.
Known or their original music and signature blend of “Roadhouse Rock,” Rockfish & the Rivermen have built a loyal regional following by capturing the character, humor and lifestyle of Chesapeake Bay communities, said Davis.
“Rockfish & the Rivermen represent the spirit of the Northern Neck,” said Irvington Mayor Julie Harris. “Their music celebrates the people and places that make our region special, and we’re excited to welcome them to Irvington as part of our July 4 festivities.”
Visitors are urged to spend the day in Irvington beginning with the Irvington Farmers Market, enjoy the concert and stay for the annual Irvington 4th of July Hometown Parade, which steps off at 3 p.m. along King Carter Drive. The parade will feature decorated golf carts, bicycles, community organizations, classic vehicles, bands and patriotic displays.
Parade registration is available, or email july4th@irvingtonva.gov. The entry deadline is June 26.
