“Rappahannock Rendezvous” revue coming to Christchurch

The stage in the David & Wendy Charlton Center for the Fine and Performing Arts at Christchurch School is abuzz with activity in preparation for the annual winter revue. Under the direction of Mark Parsons, chairman of Visual & Performing Arts, together with associate directors Libby Boyer, Kerry O’Grady, and Jim Robb, the cast and crew of 30 will bring the songs of the silver screen to life in an all-original script, written by a team of students.

“Rappahannock Rendezvous” is set in the lobby and suites of the Lark Hotel, a 1920s Art Deco establishment in an urban center. Colorful characters, songsters,  jilted suitors, and the hotel staff bring this lively story to life, interspersed with tunes from films like “Funny Girl,” “A Star Is Born,” “Come Fly With Me,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Mama Mia,” “Jersey Girl,” and “Cinema Paradiso.”

“Rappahannock Rendezvous” opens to the public at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16 and 17. Tickets may be reserved at tickets@christchurchschool.org. The show runs 90 minutes in length.

Christchurch School is located at 49 Seahorse Lane in Middlesex County’s Christchurch community.
