LANCASTER—The Northern Neck Family YMCA, 39 William B. Graham Court, Kilmarnock, will transform into a sparkling winter wonderland for the 28th annual Festival of Trees December 5 and 6.
The theme, “Together We Shine,” celebrates the power of community, generosity and togetherness that makes this cherished holiday tradition such a beacon of hope and joy for Lancaster County and beyond, reported center executive Terrie Suthard.
Rooted in the YMCA’s mission to ensure that everyone has access to programs and services—regardless of ability to pay—the Festival of Trees brings people together to support ongoing efforts to strengthen community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
The festivities will begin with an open house from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. December 5. Visitors are invited to stop by and experience the magic of the season—complete with stunningly decorated trees, festive décor and an array of auction items. YMCA staff and volunteers will be available to help guests learn about the bidding process.
The celebration will continue with the Festival of Trees Gala and Live Auction at 6 p.m. December 6. The evening will begin with a cocktail hour followed by a dinner catered by Willaby’s. Guests will bid on live and silent auction items. From artwork and dinners to cruises and trips, there’s something for everyone—whether guests are shopping for loved ones or treating themselves to something special, said Suthard.
Among the most anticipated auction highlights is a luxury eight-night Zambian Safari for two, generously donated again by Warren Green and Associates and The Bushcamp Company.
Gala tickets are $100 and available in limited quantities. They can be purchased at ymcavp.org/fot, at the Northern Neck Family YMCA welcome desk, or by emailing fot@ymcavp.org. Those unable to attend may also participate through proxy bidding by calling 435-0223.
