WESTMORELAND—The Colonial Beach Community Foundation and the Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to present the eighth annual Northern Neck Beach Music Festival, a two-day celebration of music, food and community spirit.
The festival will be held from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. September 12 and 13 on Town Hill in Colonial Beach.
This annual fundraising event supports the foundation’s community programs and initiatives, bringing together residents and visitors for a weekend of dancing, delicious food, cold beverages and fun raffles—including a chance to win $5,000, reported Michele Inderrieden.
This year’s lineup brings a mix of “Jimmy Buffet,” Motown, Carolina Beach Music and R&B to the state.
The Saturday music schedule includes:
- 11:30 a.m., Feature Attraction Band (FAB). Back for the sixth year, this award-winning group from Southside Virginia and Northern North Carolina delivers an irresistible blend of Blues, Southern Soul, Carolina Beach, R&B and Rock. Their motto: “If we play it, you can dance to it!”
- 2 p.m., The Chris Sacks Band. This “Parrothead” favorite brings a tropical flair with their signature “What Would Jimmy Buffett Do?” style.
The Sunday music schedule includes:
- 11:30 a.m., River Rock. This nine-piece band from Southern Maryland gets the crowd moving with a mix of rhythm R&B and Motown classics.
- 2 p.m., Band of Oz. A Carolina tradition for 50 years, Band of Oz is one of the most well-known and successful dance bands in the Southeast.
A two-day ticket is $65 per person. A one-day ticket is $30 for Saturday, or $50 for Sunday. For children younger than 12, tickets are $20 each. Purchase tickets at https://www.cbcommunityfoundation.org/beach-music-festival.
Paper tickets for purchase in Colonial Beach are $50 for a two-day pass, cash/check only, available at Hall’s Supermarket, The Beach Shop, CB Creative and Riverview Inn. No single-day paper tickets are available.
Outside food, beverages, coolers and pets are not permitted. Attendees must bring a valid ID to purchase alcohol. Wristbands allow re-entry throughout the day.
