LANCASTER—The Lancaster Players Youth Theater Workshop will be held August 4 through 9 at The Lancaster Playhouse, 361 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone.

The Lancaster Playhouse is, “the place to be to explore and experience the creative magic of making theater,” said director Robin Blake.
Children and youth ages 8-18 and those who have completed second grade through high school are invited to apply. Applications can be found at lancasterplayers.org. The registration fee is $125. Participants are asked to bring a lunch with them each day; snacks are provided.
“Young performers will have an opportunity to develop acting skills and build confidence as they explore behind-the-scenes aspects of theater,” said director Linda Stough.
Throughout the week, participants will prepare for a live performance while engaging in many facets of theatrical production. The workshop will conclude with a show for family, friends and the community at 3 p.m. August 9.
Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. August 3 at The Lancaster Playhouse. “Once your child has finished reading aloud, families may leave, eager to return Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.,” said Stough.
Joining Blake and Stough are seasoned instructors Mary Carlin Porter and Susan Damron, who will lead sessions on acting, stagecraft and improvisation. In addition to stage roles, participants will gain experience creating scenery, costumes and props—bringing the full magic of theater to life.
