Virginia’s River Realm restaurant promotion planned January 21-31

Break out the forks and knives! Virginia’s River Realm (VRR) Restaurant Week is coming January 21-31. Remember to call a favorite restaurant to make reservations!

The 11-day event, presented by VRR, highlights restaurants in Kilmarnock, White Stone, Irvington, Lively, Topping, Saluda, Deltaville and Urbanna. The promotion is designed to support local restaurateurs in the shoulder months and to attract diners who may have never visited some of the participating restaurants before so they can sample a variety of the best dishes VRR chefs have to offer.

From casual settings to high-end dining with a sprinkling of food trucks all serving locally made and crafted culinary items, more than 85 participating restaurants and food trucks will feature exciting new dishes, along with fan favorites, and offer multi-course menus during the event, said Kilmarnock economic development coordinator Sharon Phillips.

Diners also have the opportunity to enjoy amazing values during breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner at a number of participating food trucks to casual dining and high-end VRR restaurants and Bay to Table food retailers, said Phillips.

Restaurateurs may call VRR Ambassador Susan Cockrell, Kilmarnock town manager, at 435-1552 x1; Trent Funkhouser, Middlesex County economic development and tourism executive director, at 758-4330; or Phillips at 435.1552 x 3, for ways to participate in Restaurant Week.
