Summer concerts continue at local Virginia State Parks

LANCASTER — The sounds of summer echo across the Commonwealth and concert season is underway. Several Virginia State Parks offer bluegrass, jazz, gospel, country, rock and roll, symphony and contemporary music. Each location has a variety of music throughout the year so there is something that everyone can enjoy.

Belle Isle State Park

Music by the River at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster, will feature concerts from 6-8 p.m. on second and third Saturdays through August.

  • July 13: Faron Hamblin
  • July 20: Rappahannock Crossing Bluegrass Band
  • August 10: Karen Jonas Band
  • August 17: Southern Grace

The series is made possible by the sponsorship of local businesses, community organizations, foundations and Friends of Belle Isle State Park.

Westmoreland State Park 

Music on the Cliffs at Westmoreland State Park, 145 Cliff Road, Montross, will feature concerts from 6-8 p.m. on third Saturdays through September.

  • August 17: Sally & Brian
  • September 21: Tyler Nichols

The series is sponsored by Friends of Westmoreland. A raffle will be conducted throughout the series for a new kayak; the drawing will be held at the last concert of the series.

Parking fees are required at all park locations upon entry.
