
LANCASTER—The Historyland Community Workshop will hold its annual Craft & Bake Sale from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. November 22 at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock. There will be a silent auction and raffles.
The sale funds scholarships for Lancaster and Northumberland seniors, reported secretary Rita Durrer.
The sale will feature hand-decorated oyster shells, crocheted market bags, 3D shadow-box wall hangings, felted items, cross-stitch ornaments, scarves, themed plaques, shadow box miniatures, afghans, shawls, quilted goods, tea towels and hand-crafted ornaments, said Durrer.
“Our aged Wisconsin White Cheddar Cheese has arrived,” she said.
Homemade jams, jellies, pickles, relishes and preserves will be available and can be sampled. Lots of baked goods and assorted pies also will be available in time for Thanksgiving, said vice president Carol Wright. Also, cookie platters of one or three dozen cookies, which can be frozen for the holidays. Homemade beef and chicken dog biscuits will be available.
Raffles and a silent auction will add an element of excitement to the event. Raffle winners need not be present to win, said Durrer.
Several local businesses have contributed to the craft sale, including Allon-Z Charters, W.F. Booth & Son, Burkes Fine Jewelers, Compass Entertainment Center, Creative Design, Dairy Queen, Domino’s Pizza, Donna’s Restaurant, Front Porch Coffee, Golden Eagle Golf Club, Great Fortune, Habitat Restore, Last Nite’s ART, Moxie Nails, Northern Neck Popcorn Bag, Northern Neck Sail & Power Squadron, Pizza Hut, Rittenhouse Salon, Ross’s Fine Jewelry, Sal’s Pizza, Salt & Sand, Small Town Burger, The Pearl, The Rivah, Tiles Project, Tip Sea Charters, Town Center, Tractor Supply, Tri-Star Supermarket, Wal-Mart and West Church Street Market, said marketing chairman Peggy Hendrickson.
