Trick or Art pandemic edition will return to Allure Art Center Oct. 16

Visit Allure Art Center on Friday and Saturday evenings October 16 through Halloween “if you dare!”

LANCASTER — Preparations are well underway for the annual Trick or Art Halloween Haunt at Allure Art Center, 419 Rappahannock Drive, White Stone.

“Since we are already wearing masks it is perfect to have an even bigger Trick or Art this year especially when Halloween falls on a Saturday night,” said gallery owner Jeff Cherry.

This multi-week event will build each weekend up to the final Halloween weekend and with slight changes each week, said Cherry.

“This year we have new additions to the haunt, like the entrance through clown corner and the new Reaper’s alley where you walk through our graveyard and around the building where some go in and never return.

“Come tour the grounds on the weekends, if you dare, see great original artwork by Virginia fine artists and then hang out after hours to see the building come alive when the spirits take over,” he said.

Trick or Art will start October 16 and continues each weekend through Halloween night. The best time to visit is Fridays and Saturdays after 5:30 p.m. when the sun goes down and the lights come on.

The gallery inside will be open until 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays nights. After the gallery closes and until 10 p.m. the windows will come alive with ghosts, zombies and and other chilling surprises.

“We will have trick or treating for kids with candy and treats so bring the family out and get some awesome pics and a scare or two,” said Cherry.

The gallery and ghosts will adhere to all best practices to keep everyone safe.

“We will be enforcing safe distancing, limiting the number of guests at one time, masks required inside, as well as regular cleaning and sanitizing,” he said. “Hand sanitizer will be available and the candy and treats will be in a self-serve setting outside to limit contact.

“As fair warning, there are several places where objects will jump out or actors may startle someone,” said Cherry.
