Summer Paddles on the Dragon Run offered July 12-29

Dragon Run paddle participants check out beautiful natural scenery along the waterway, which runs through Gloucester, Middlesex and King & Queen counties.

Friends of Dragon Run  (FODR) welcomes guests to participate in guided paddle trips on the most beautiful river/swamp in Virginia.

The organization is dedicated to preserving the Dragon Run, which flows through Virginia’s Middle Peninsula. They host paddle trips to educate the public and to raise funds to protect land along the Dragon Run. In the summer, the swamp is particularly beautiful with the emergence of flowers.

Paddle trips are available July 12 through 29. Information and registration is available on FODR’s website.

These three-hour trips are for persons 18 and older. A $60 donation is requested. Each kayak trip is led by a nature guide who describes the Dragon Run and its unique ecological significance.

No prior paddle experience is required. FODR provides all of the equipment.
