WESTMORELAND— Stratford Hall, 483 Great House Road, Stratford, recently announced plans for Virginia Resolved: A Commemoration of Independence, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 7.
On June 7, 1776, acting on the instructions of the fifth Virginia Convention, Northern Neck native Richard Henry Lee introduced in the Second Continental Congress a motion to recognize the Colonies as “free and independent states” and “dissolve all political connection” between them and Great Britain.

• Living history demonstrations.
• Cavalry drills portraying the Light Dragoons.
• Musket demonstrations with the Sons of the American Revolution.
• Citizenship Ceremony.
• Colonial music and activities.
• Art show and food trucks.
