Sounds of Summer series to open June 6

YORKTOWN—The Sounds of Summer concert series will open Thursday, June 6, at Riverwalk Landing, 331 Water Street, Yorktown. These free Thursday-night concerts are from 6:30-9 p.m. through August 15 (except July 4).

The Uptown Band will open the series, followed by an exciting lineup that includes rock-n-roll, R&B, pop, beach and country music.

The Sounds of Summer concert series includes a dance floor, cornhole games and food trucks. Guests are permitted to bring their own blankets, chairs and small coolers. Tables, umbrellas and tents are not allowed. Concertgoers may bring their own alcohol, but it must be consumed within the designated concert area.

Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, York-Poquoson Courthouse, County Administration Building and other designated public parking lots. The complimentary, wheelchair-accessible Yorktown Trolley runs until 9:30 p.m. during every concert with a modified route that includes some of the stops on the outskirts of town.
