LANCASTER—Kilmarnock’s first NovemberFest will take place in the downtown area from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, November 22.
The event was created by the Kilmarnock Museum as a way of giving back to town merchants and thanking them for their continuing loyal support over the years, said president Carroll Lee Ashburn.

NovemberFest is a one-day shopping event loaded with free entertainment. Participating downtown businesses will offer special sales with a chance for shoppers to win $500 cash, courtesy of Chesapeake Bank. Simply register at participating stores, no purchase is necessary, and it is totally free, said Ashburn.
All of the entertainment is free as well, he said. Classic cars will be in evidence throughout town. The Deltaville Model Railroaders with their caboose full of model trains, Little Wonder Horse Farm with cart rides for children and adults, the Mechanicsville Hula Dancers will perform, as will the Kilmarnock and District Pipe Band.
Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department will have firetrucks available for the whole family to see and giveaways for children, continued Ashburn. The star of the show, master magician and juggler, Jonathan Austin, promises to amuse and amaze.
The entire event is open to the public, and one lucky person is going home $500 richer, he said. Plan now to attend and register in every participating store for more opportunities to win, and it’s just in time for Christmas shopping.
