Music by the River to open June 11 at Belle Isle State Park

Chris Stanley & Jane Cooper will open the Music by the River series on June 11.

LANCASTER—The Friends of Belle Isle State Park recently announced the 2022 Music by the River schedule. The family-friendly outdoor concerts are staged in the waterfront picnic area at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster.

“We’ve scheduled a variety of programs again this season,” said music committee co-chairman Robert Mason Jr. “Get ready for some foot stomping and fancy dancing!”

The series will open June 11 with Chris Stanley & Jane Cooper of Out on a Limb. Their shows typically offer sweet harmony, acoustic, folk, country and rock.

On June 25, Faron Hamblin will bring his bag of classic and contemporary country hits to the stage.

On July 9, Patsy & The Country Classics kick it up with crowd-pleasing, country and a little rock for the fun of it.

On July 16, the Garden Variety String Band will break out the bluegrass fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar and stand up bass. Yee-haw!

On August 13, the RTC Band will pack everything into a two-hour program—”Where Country Meets Rock & Soul!” Bring your dancing shoes.

On August 20, Southern Grace will close the series with country gospel.

All concerts will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Picnics are welcome. A limited number of picnic tables will be available. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.

The shows are free; however, there is a $5 parking fee payable at the park entrance. Current state mandates regarding the pandemic will be observed.
