Music by the River to open June 10 at Belle Isle State Park

LANCASTER—The Friends of Belle Isle State Park recently announced the 2023 Music by the River schedule. The family-friendly outdoor concerts are staged in the waterfront picnic area at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster.

The series will open at 6 p.m. June 10 with Chris Stanley & Jane Cooper. The duo typically offer sweet harmony, acoustic, folk, country and rock.

June 17, The Tidewinders will bring bluegrass to the park.

July 8, the Magnolia Blues Jazz Band of the 41st Army Band will visit—all the way from Mississippi. The program could include early 20th century, funk, bebop and modern jazz.
On July 29, Black Cat Murphy will offer a versatile mix of rock and country, with male and female lead vocals.

August 8, country favorite Faron Hamblin returns.

August 19, Southern Grace will be picking country gospel with a twang.

September 9, American/Alt-Country songwriter Karen Jonas and band, guitarist Tim Bray, bassist Seth Morrissey and drummer Seth Brown, will close out the season.

The shows are approximately two hours long. Picnics are welcome. A limited number of picnic tables will be available. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.

The shows are free; however, there is a $5 parking fee payable at the park entrance.
