First Africans Day set July 27

WESTMORELAND — The fourth annual First Africans Day at Stratford Hall will be held from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. July 27 at Stratford Hall Historic Preserve, 483 Great House Road, Stratford.

The event will commemorate the enslaved Africans and African Americans who built and sustained Stratford Hall and the Lee family for generations.

Throughout the day descendants, interpreters and artists will gather to remember and honor those once enslaved at Stratford Hall through music, art, dancing and storytelling.
