The first place prize is $2,500, second $1,000, third $750, fourth $500 and fifth $250. Additionally, a $25,000 prize for breaking the state record is sponsored by Blue Ridge Bank.

Tournament entry is $200 per boat. The final opportunity to register will be at a captain’s meeting at 7 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Dream Fields, 1385 Irvington Road, Weems. Participants are urged to arrive early to the meeting to complete registration paperwork, purchase tournament t-shirts and browse the raffle prizes, said Forrester.

In addition to tournament prizes, there will be a 50/50 raffle and a $100 Calcutta cash prize for the largest Spanish mackerel and the largest bluefish.

“We’re excited to announce that this year’s awards celebration will be held at Tiki Windmill,” said Forrester.

Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at Tiki Windmill, 56 Windjammer Lane, White Stone. Tournament winners will be recognized shortly before music by Buckshot Roberts, from 7-11 p.m.

Guests can come by land or water and marina slips will be available for the weekend. Call 436-1818 to reserve a slip.
