This is the cover of the 2026 Deltaville Great Decisions Briefing Book. The book is available for purchase for $25 at the Deltaville and Urbanna branches of the Middlesex County Public Library system and at each Great Decisions Friday meeting.

The Deltaville Great Decisions Board is looking forward to kicking off the 2026 Great Decisions Foreign Policy Discussion Series, a unique opportunity for individuals to engage in thought-provoking discussions on some of the most critical issues shaping our world today.

This year’s sessions begin Friday, Jan. 30, at 10 a.m. and will continue each Friday through March 20 at the Deltaville Community Association (DCA) building, 17147 General Puller Highway, Deltaville.

The first session is entitled, “Ruptured Alliances and Risk of Nuclear Proliferation.” It will be presented by John Weidner, a retired U.S. Naval submarine officer with a master’s degree in nuclear engineering.

“We are fortunate to have an exceptional group of speakers lined up for the major policy topics,” a series spokesman said in a news release.

Titles of planned programs include:
• U.S. China Relations.
• Muti-lateral Institutions.
• Ukraine and the Future of European Security.
• America and the World – Trump 2.0.
• The Future of Humanitarian Rights and International Relations.
• Tariffs and the Future World Economy.
• U.S. Engagement in Africa.

Each session begins at 10 a.m. with a hearty welcome, the introduction of the speaker, and an interesting and engaging presentation, which is followed by a break for coffee and cookies. The session resumes with a lively question-and-answer session and concludes at noon.

To learn more, get your copy of the 2026 Great Decisions Briefing Book, which provides articles written by prominent experts on each topic. The Briefing Book is available for purchase for $25 at the Deltaville and Urbanna branches of the Middlesex County Public Library system and at each Friday meeting. Note that the supply is limited and Briefing Books can be reserved by contacting Great Decisions Coordinator Stan Coloff at stan@stan.coloff.name. Cookie providers are needed and invited to sign up at the first meeting.

“Looking forward to another interesting and informative year for Great Decisions,” the series spokesman said. “Hope to see you there.”
