BBQ, Blues and Brews Bay School to host June 11

MATHEWS – The Bay School Community Arts Center is hosting its first Family Art Festival with BBQ, Blues and Brews, from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at Sunrise Farm, the East River home of Mel and Sonia Schursky. There will be art and craft activities along with guided yoga. The Blue Guitar band will take the stage from 4-7 p.m. Tickets include food by Backwoods BBQ and Shirley Williams Catering. Gloucester Brewing Company beer will also be available for purchase.

As a thank you, the Schurskys will sponsor the first 15 local teachers to the event. If anyone else would like to say, “Thank you” to the amazing teachers who are shaping the future of America, donate $5, $10 or $35 for a whole ticket. Teachers who wish to attend should call the Bay School to have their free tickets reserved.

Adult tickets are $35, teens $15, youth $10, and children 5 and younger, free. Additional items for purchase include beer, T-shirts with option to tie-dye on site, a brief painting class, and more.

The event is sponsored by Riverside Walter Reed Hospital, Dr. Hugh Bryan and Dr. Barbara Allison-Bryan, Lulu Birds Kitchen, C. Ben Lennon, Organic Green Lawn Care, Chesapeake Bank, Pappas Orthodontics, Bangkok Noi Thai Cuisine, and Howard-Dooley Café. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
