Richmond County Fair slated nightly August 6-10

The 35th annual Richmond County Fair will be presented from 6-11 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Aug. 6-9, and 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Richmond County Fairgrounds, 315 Community Park Drive, Warsaw. Admission: $4 per person, free younger than 3. Livestock, crops and craft exhibits; food and other vendors; carnival (wristbands $20-$30 in advance at colrides.com/events/18, or at the midway ticket booths, individual ride tickets $1.25 each, 24 for $25, 72 for $60), music nightly.

RICHMOND COUNTY — The Richmond County Fair Association recently announced the 35th annual Richmond County Fair opening nightly from August 6–10, at 6 p.m., at the Richmond County Fairgrounds in Warsaw.

The opening ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. August 6. Each night will feature live music in addition to livestock, crops, arts and crafts exhibits, vendors, food, a hay bale decorating contest with the theme of cartoon characters, livestock shows, rides by Cole rides and alligator wrestling by Gator Boys Road Show and Jimmy Riffle.

Arts and crafts exhibits by children ages 5 and older will be judged and used to determine cash and/or scholarships. Three scholarships totaling $3,500 were given last year.

The contest is a yellow cake from scratch with chocolate frosting. The finished products will be auctioned following the opening ceremony. Proceeds will go to the Richmond County Fair Youth Scholarship Fund.

Advance sale ride wristbands for the fair will be sold through 6 p.m. August 6 at colerides.com.
