Stratford Hall to offer behind-the-scenes tours

WESTMORELAND—Stratford Hall Historic Preserve, 483 Great House Road, Stratford, recently announced three upcoming behind-the-scenes tours.

Senior director of preservation Phil Mark will present Uncover Three Centuries of Architectural Wonder Stratford from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. May 16. This tour will focus on the main floor of the house and the most recent room restoration projects, as well as the exterior and lower level and projects at neighboring outbuildings.

Vice president of research and collections Dr. Gordon Blaine Steffey will present Stratford Vault Sessions: Documenting the Revolution from 2-4 p.m. May 31. This tour will offer exclusive access to significant documents held by Stratford Hall.

Director of landscapes Matt Peterschmidt will present Explore the Past, Present and Future of Stratford’s Historic Gardens and Grounds from 10 a.m.-noon June 20. This tour will look at the past, present and future of the landscape around the nearly 300-year-old Great House.
