LANCASTER—The Rappahannock River Yacht Club (RRYC) 2026 Typhoon Wednesday night racing series will launch April 15 with races to follow on consecutive Wednesdays, terminating May 20. May 27 will be used for a weather make up day if required.
Racing will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Rappahannock River near the mouth of Carter Creek in Irvington. The race committee will set up a course based on current wind conditions attempting to complete three races each evening. Competitors are requested to check in with the signal boat prior to the evening’s event.
The sailing is open to all models of the Cape Dory Typhoon. Participants do not have to be a member of the RRYC to compete, reported RRYC Typhoon Fleet commander Kevin Stepko. All that is required to race is to register for the season beforehand on the RRYC website.
