Concert at Abingdon Church to feature Seraph Brass Quintet
GLOUCESTER—Abingdon Episcopal Church on Route 17 in White Marsh, will host the “Seraph Brass Quintet” in the third concert this season in the Arts at Abingdon Series. The concert will be held Saturday, February 2, at 5 p.m. at the church. Admission is free but a free-will offering will be accepted.
Seraph Brass is a dynamic brass ensemble drawing from a roster of America’s top female brass players. Performing primarily as a brass quintet or sextet, Seraph is committed to engaging audiences with captivating programming. Seraph Brass presents a diverse body of repertoire that includes original transcriptions, newly commissioned works, and well-known classics. Seraph released their debut studio album, “Asteria,” on Summit Records in January 2018, winning a Silver Medal Global Music Award.
Seraph Brass has toured throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe and is on the roster of Dow Artists and the Manhattan Music Ensemble. Also, many members of Seraph Brass have performed with Adele on her North American tour.
Enthusiastic about education, Seraph has developed strong relationships with music education programs in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., as well as giving residencies and performances at the University of Virginia, Fayetteville State University, Montana State University, Arkansas Tech University, University of Tennessee, Eastern and Western Illinois Universities, Penn State Erie, Metropolitan State University of Denver and others.
